Inside diameter gauge set
Inside diameter gauge is tool used for precision measurement of the internal dimensions of bored parts, widely used in machinery manufacturing, automotive repair, aerospace, and other fields
.
Structural Principle: An inside diameter gauge typically consists of a probe, a lever mechanism, and a dial indicator (or micrometer). By having the probe contact the bore wall, radial displacement is converted into angular displacement of the pointer, thus measuring the bore diameter.
Types and Accuracy:
Mechanical Type: Equipped with a dial indicator (accuracy 0.01mm) or micrometer (0.001mm), suitable for routine inspection.
Digital Type: Models with electronic sensors can achieve an accuracy of up to 0.0005mm, supporting rapid reading and data storage.
Operating Procedures:
Selection: Choose the appropriate specification based on the Inside Diameter Gauge Set (e.g., 18-35mm, 35-50mm, etc.), and check the surface finish and connection stability of the probe.
Cleaning: Wipe the workpiece and probe with a lint-free cloth to avoid impurities affecting accuracy.
Calibration Procedure:
Benchmark Setting: Adjust the zero point using a ring gauge or micrometer of known dimensions.
Pressure Gauge Control: Adjust the dial gauge to a reading of 0.2-0.3 mm. After zeroing the pointer, verify repeatedly 2-3 times.
Measurement Points: Swing to Find the Minimum Value: Slowly swing the gauge within the hole and read the minimum value indicated by the pointer. This is the actual hole diameter.
Multiple Measurements: Take at least 3 measurements at the same location and average the results to reduce random errors.
Daily Maintenance:
Cleaning and Storage: After use, clean the probe with gasoline, dry it, apply rust-preventive oil, and store it in a shockproof box.
Avoid Damage: Keep away from coolant and cutting fluid. Do not subject to impact or vibration.
Regular Calibration: Calibrate every 3-6 months depending on usage frequency.
Troubleshooting:
Probe jamming: May be due to oil buildup or deformation. Disassemble, clean, or ream for repair.
Value Fluctuations: Check the clearance between the probe pin and bearing. Replace the components if necessary.
Pointer Not Returning to Zero: Recalibrate or replace the worn spring mechanism.
Application Scenarios:
Automotive Manufacturing: Inspecting the bore diameters of engine blocks and transmission housings to ensure precision fit.
Aerospace: Measuring turbine blade mounting holes and hydraulic pipe inner diameters to meet stringent tolerance requirements (e.g., H7 precision).
Medical Devices: Verifying the dimensions of precision catheters and artificial joint channels with an accuracy requirement of 0.002mm.
Advantages of the 18-35-50-160mm Set
The core advantage of our 18-35-50-160mm Inside Diameter Gauge Set lies in its multi-range integration, solving the tool compatibility problem for measuring different bore diameters in one go. This avoids the hassle of frequent gauge changes and balances practicality and economy.
The set includes three core ranges: 18-35mm, 35-50mm, and 50-160mm, covering the measurement needs of most small to medium-sized bore parts in industrial settings, eliminating the need for separate purchases.
Single-range internal diameter gauges require frequent disassembly and replacement of different gauge heads or probes depending on the bore diameter. This set, however, allows for quick switching by simply changing the probe assembly for the corresponding range, significantly saving operation time.
It comes with a customized shockproof storage box with internal slots to separate gauges and accessories for different ranges. This integrated set offers cost advantages in production and packaging, making it more economical than purchasing them individually
