The 0.01 mm dial indicator serving as an accurate measuring device, and its operates on the principle of employing a rack-and-pinion or lever-and-sector gear mechanism to transform the linear movement of the measuring rod into the angular movement of the indicator's pointer.
A 0.01 mm dial indicator generally consists of the following three parts: Body Part: This includes the measuring head, measuring rod, and shock-absorbing spring. The measuring head is the part of the dial indicator that comes into direct contact with the object being measured. The measuring rod connects the measuring head to the reading device, while the shock-absorbing spring is used to minimize the impact of external vibrations on the measurement results. Transmission System: Composed mainly of a rack, pinion, and other precision mechanisms, it converts the minute linear movement of the measuring rod into the angular displacement of the pointer. Reading Device: Comprised of a circular dial with scales and a pointer. The dial is marked with 100 equal divisions, each representing a displacement of 0.01mm.
Based on feedback and suggestions from many different customers, in addition to the plastic case, we have also developed a foam box packaging suitable for this type of micrometer (as shown in the figure below). The new packaging has undergone packaging and transportation testing. Compared to the plastic case, the foam box is lighter, which can reduce transportation costs for some customers with small order demands. When shipping loose goods, the foam box can better protect the micrometers from damage due to rough handling by couriers, preventing product packaging damage.

FAQ
- Press the measuring rod of the dial indicator vertically against the surface of the object being measured. Ensure that the measuring rod is in good contact with the surface and that the measurement direction is consistent with the direction of movement of the object being measured.
- When the object being measured undergoes displacement or dimensional changes, the measuring rod of the dial indicator will move accordingly, causing the pointer to rotate on the dial.
- When reading the value, first look at the main scale to determine the position where the pointer is pointing to ascertain the integer part of the value. Then look at the subsidiary scale to determine the decimal part of the value. Add the integer part and the decimal part together to get the measured value of the dial indicator.
- For example, if the pointer on the main scale points to "2" and the pointer on the subsidiary scale points to "0.03", then the measured value is 2.03mm.

- Zero the dial indicator: The dial indicator needs to be zeroed before the measurement can be made. By adjusting the dial indicator, the pointer points to the zero position on the dial. This ensures that all subsequent measurements are taken from this baseline point.
- Positioning dial indicator: Place the dial indicator's probe on the surface or feature to be measured. Ensure that the dial indicator is perpendicular (if measuring height or depth) or parallel to the surface being measured (if measuring distance)
- Taking a measurement: Place the dial indicator tip against the object being measured. The tip should be perpendicular to the surface for accurate readings. As the object moves or changes dimension, the dial indicator pointer will move along the scale. Read the value indicated by the pointer. The pointer may be a needle or a digital display, depending on the type of dial indicator.
